Welcome to the Official Campaign Committee Website for James F. Berardinelli, Candidate for the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia. James is running to improve the quality of representation for the indigent and to help improve the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness in the criminal justice system.
James is a former co-chair of the Criminal Justice Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association, a volunteer for Race for the Cure - Philadelphia, Friends of the Wissahickon, and Wissahickon Restoration Volunteers, and the managing attorney of James F. Berardinelli, LLC.
He began his legal career as a law clerk for Justice Frank J. Montemuro of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and then served seventeen years in the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office as a homicide and special victims prosecutor. In 2012, he founded James F. Berardinelli, LLC, where he specializes in defending homicide and major felony cases, at both the trial and appellate levels, in addition to handling civil matters.
For the last three years, James has served as the Philadelphia Bar Association's representative on the First Judicial District Counsel Fee Working Group, fighting to ensure adequate representation for indigent defendants in the criminal justice system.
